Hybrid Homes
“Hybrid Homes” is what is typically referred to as a “Barn-dominium” or “Barn House.” We use the term “Hybrid” because of the mixed framing methods used to construct. Typically on the house portion of a barn we lean towards standard 16″ on center stud wall construction with either l”x4″ horizontal girts for metal fastening or zip board sheathing under the metal siding which creates the air tightness desired in homes. The roof systems are still typically barn style and the post frame method is applied to the attached shop or arena.
